2010 Polish American Day Held at Six Flags Great America

(Photos) On Saturday, June 5th, Polish American Day was held at Six Flags Great America Theme Park in Gurnee, Illinois. It is the largest theme park in Illinois, with lots to see and do and definitely a lot of fun. This event was sponsored by four Polish Fraternals and hosted by their Vice Presidents:- PNA - Paul Odrobina, PWAA - Sharon Zago, Polish Falcons - Robert Gorny and this event was chaired by PRCUA Resident Vice President Anna Sokolowski. Together we greeted Polish American, mostly students and dancers to the park . Promptly at 10:00 a.m. at the main gate, in front of classic 2-story Carousel, dance ensembles representing our fraternal organizations put on very beautiful dance performance. The PRCUA was represented by "Wesoly Lud" under the direction of Misia and Richard Jaminski and "Polonia" under direction of Cecylia Roznowska,. PNA was represented by"Lajkonik" under the direction of Halina Misterka and "Polanie" under the direction of Malgorzata Skrzypkowska. Special thank you to all dancers, choreographers, instructors and dance groups directors. We truly appreciate your work, cooperation and enthusiasm. See you all next year and hopefully more of you will take an advantage of the discounted tickets and show Polish American pride by joining at this and other events that the Polish Fraternals organize.

On Sunday June 6th the Annual Maria Konopnicka 's Soc. 1622 picnic was held in the Chicagoland suburban forest preserve. After few thunderstorms, the picnic organizers were ready for guests with delicious food, games and raffle. The officials cooks were Mark Kroplewski, Basia Frankowicz and Vicky Kroplewski who grilled a variety of "finger licking good" chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs and Polish sausage. There were plentiful of cold drinks. Proceeds from this picnic went toward the scholarship program.

Here are some photos from the events.
