PRCUA President Ozog is Hamtramck Parade Grand Marshal

(Photos) Hamtramck, Michigan celebrated the end of summer with its Annual Polish Day Festival and Parade that marched down Joseph Campau Street on Labor Day, Monday, September 7. The weather was nice – rain was predicted but it held off until after the parade. Organizers reported that the crowd in attendance was the largest it’s been in the past five years.

Wallace Ozog, National President of PRCUA was the Grand Marshal of the Parade. Although Mr. Ozog currently resides in Lemont, Illinois, his permanent residence has been and still is in Warren, Michigan. The PRCUA was well represented in the Parade with National Vice President Robert Bielenda and his wife Eleanor, National Directors of District #10 Barbara Toboy and Thomas Lisiecki and students from the following dance schools: Polskie Maki, Rogalin, Opole, Wieliczka, Zajaczek, Gwiazda, Halka and Zakopane. Also, walking in the parade were PRCUA members Bernice Adamkiewicz, Julius Szymczyk, the Grabowski Family, Marge Zaharias and Tom and Donna Skurski. PRCUA First Lady Joann Ozog, Eleanor Bielenda, wife of PRCUA Vice President Robert Bielenda and Carolyn Meleski, President of Friends of Polish Art, rode in a convertible owned and driven by Jodie Meyers.

The crowd along the parade route was enthusiastic; it was nice to see so many children, teens and young adults participating and it was a great way to end the summer.

Here are some photos from the events.
