Chicago, IL - The PRCUA is

Insurance of America with the PRCUA was approved by both fraternal
organizations.
Members of the FLIA
approved the merger agreement at a Special Convention held on Saturday,
March 19, 2005, at their headquarters in Greenfield, WI. A Special
Convention of the PRCUA was held on Thursday, June 9, 2005, at the PRCUA
headquarters in Chicago, IL. Joan Smuda, Chairperson of the 58th Quadrennial
Convention of the PRCUA, chaired this Special Convention. A quorum was
present, including PRCUA officers: President Wallace M. Ozog, Resident Vice
President Anna Sokolowski, Secretary-Treasurer Josephine Szarowicz, as well
as PRCUA General Counsel Norman Schroeder. Susan M. Oskvarek, Secretary to
the 58th PRCUA Quadrennial Convention was also present and served as
Secretary to this Special Convention. Representing the FLIA were President
Jeanette Holmquest and Secretary-Treasurer Constance Pravechek.
Mr. Ozog reported that
ballots were send to 282 delegates to the 2002 PRCUA 58th Quadrennial
Convention. The official count of returned ballots was 214, which represents
a 76% response. The ballots were opened and counted. The votes were 208
“YES” and 6 “NO”, totaling 214 votes. This represents 97.2% in favor of the
merger; the proposed merger was approved.
There are many steps that
have to take place in the merger process before it is complete. The signed
merger agreements have been delivered to the Department of Insurance in the
States of Illinois and Wisconsin. Now, we must await their approval before
the merger is finalized, which can take up to two months.
