“DECISIONS - WHAT TO BUY”
“The first
step to getting the things you want out of life is this:
Decide what
you want.”
Ben Stein
With the
Holidays fast approaching, you have been thinking and planning about how you
will fulfill the “Wish List” for the people you care about who are on your
gift list. Should I get them something (a toy, clothing, etc.) that the
person will open, say “Thank You” and enjoy for awhile? OR Should I get them
something (Life Insurance) that will benefit them today AND EVERY DAY and
the person will not only say Thank You, but will be “Forever Grateful” for
the rest of their lives.
Don’t forget
yourself. Do you have enough Life Insurance to Protect and Secure your
future (Final Expenses, the day-to-day living expenses of those you leave
behind, education for the children, potential wedding expenses, etc.)?
Sounds like buying Life Insurance for yourself is a very Positive
Decision to make. So let’s look at some
further Decisions to consider.
Now you may
ask – When is the best time to buy Life Insurance on a child? The answer is,
purchasing a “Whole Life” Insurance Certificate on anybody (adult or
juvenile) as soon as possible is the best possible answer. In fact, the
PRCUA offers Life Insurance on infants from birth. This enables you to
secure a low premium, which remains the same, for the length of the time
period selected or for the life of the individual. Buying NOW ensures that
the individual will have the Life Insurance regardless of what “Life
Experiences” may deal them in the future such as health conditions which can
change on any day. So the next Decision
is don’t delay do it TODAY.
Keep in mind
that “Term Life Insurance” is also an option for buying Life Insurance.
Some of the parameters are a little different than a “Whole Life” Insurance
Certificate but it can also be a very valuable tool in providing for the
future. (See the Contact information at the end of this article for
additional information.) So purchasing either Whole Life or Term Life
Insurance is a very Positive Decision
to make.
A related
Decision after you make the very
Positive Decision to buy a Holiday
Gift of Life Insurance for someone that you care about or yourself, is the
area of Riders. Simply put, Riders are optional additional benefits to the
Basic Certificate. What follows is a brief recap of the Riders.
What is a
Rider? A Rider is an amendment attached to a Certificate that modifies the
conditions of the Certificate by expanding or decreasing its benefits or
excluding certain conditions from coverage. With the Polish Roman Catholic
Union of America, the following Riders are available:
- Accidental Death Benefit
(ADB);
- Guaranteed Insurability Option (GIO);
- Waiver of Premium (WP);
- Juvenile Payor Benefit (JPB)
- Return of Premium (RP)
A separate
premium for each Rider is added to the basic premium for the Certificate.
Some of the above Riders are Age Specific. For a more detailed explanation
of each of the above-mentioned Riders, contact your local PRCUA agent, one
of the Satellite Offices or the Home Office at one of the telephone numbers
listed at the end of this article.
Commit to
buying that Life Insurance NOW for those on your “Wish List” and yourself.
