You and Your
Money - Part 2
HOW TO PROTECT WHAT YOU HAVE
In Part I of “YOU AND YOUR
MONEY mention was made of some features of the Polish Roman Catholic Union
of America Annuities that have been revised. The changes have been made to
better serve our fraternal members.
Previously there was a
requirement that it was necessary to maintain deposits above $25,000 in
order to have the interest paid monthly to the member. This is no longer
a requirement. Requests can be made to have this interest paid to the
member at any time. Withdrawals are subject to the IRS Tax Regulations for
your age and income tax bracket at the time the withdrawal is made.
As mentioned in Part 1 of
this article interest rates vary by the series selected. The current
interest rate may change with market conditions. Therefore, it could go
higher or
lower. Please visit
www.prcua.org/annuity for the current interest rate.
In addition, the PRCUA,
offers its members:
-
Tax Deferred
-

-
FREE 10% Annual
Withdrawal
-
Additional FREE

-

upon Death
Remember, an annuity is
like a retirement plan. It is meant to pay money to you during your
retirement. It can be used for many purposes like travel, buying a car, etc.
An annuity can help YOU fully enjoy your Golden Years!
Conversely, a life
insurance certificate is meant to help SECURE the future for the people that
you leave behind. Life Insurance is not for the people who die; it is for
the People who live. If something happens to you today, will your spouse,
children, grandchildren, etc. be able to carry on without you? Consider your
mortgage, tuition for education, medical bills, credit card debts, etc. All
this will have to be paid without the benefit of your income. Since none of
us know what the next 5 minutes will bring, who will provide for your family
when you die? Fortunately, you can, IF you have taken the necessary steps
ahead of time when you qualify to buy a life insurance certificate from the
PRCUA.
The October 8, 2007 issue
of the National Underwriter Life & Health states: According to LIMRA
International, 68 million adult Americans have no life insurance. 68
million! … So, nearly a third--31%-- of all American adults seemingly have
no life insurance. (That percentage would be even higher if we omit adults
age 65 and up.)… When untimely death occurs and there is no life insurance,
the surviving family members (and business partners) suffer loss not only of
the loved one but also of financial stability. The repercussions can be
devastating.
Since none of us know how
long we will medically qualify for life insurance, contact your local deputy
or call the Home Office TODAY (1-800-772-8632) to answer any questions you
may have or to complete an application for the particular life insurance
plan that is suitable for you. We are here to help secure your financial
future.
As a reminder, for both
Annuities and Life Insurance certificates, be sure to amend your beneficiary
designations when circumstances change through marriage, the birth of
children and grandchildren or the death of a current beneficiary. Otherwise,
this may cause unnecessary problems in the future.
If you need to change the
beneficiary on your PRCUA life insurance certificate - or change your
address - please call the Home Office at 773-782-2600 or 1-800-772-8632.
