Message from President Wallace M. Ozog: Recent economic events
required our organization - the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America - to
review our annuity program in the last
three weeks. As you are aware, our country is concerned with the "BIG"
institutions and their ability to be viable and solvent in serving the
American public. Our 135-year-tradition of taking care of our
members’ needs will be maintained due to our various investment vehicles,
especially our bond portfolio. The PRCUA is in a sound financial
condition.

Director Vacancy Declared in District 5 (Ohio and West Virginia):
The Executive Officers and Board of Directors of the Polish Roman
Catholic Union of America have formally declared, at their quarterly
Board Meeting held on Saturday, September 6, 2008 in Cleveland, Ohio,
that a vacancy exists in the PRCUA for the office of an additional
National Director in District #5.

A Successful Fund Raiser for the PRCUA Education Fund:
This was the first fund raising event to benefit the PRCUA Education
Fund. It included a luncheon with 80 participants, a raffle and
donations. The net proceeds realized were $35,558.33. It’s success was
due to the cooperation of the committee members and the PMA and PRCUA
employees and to the generosity of all those who attended the luncheon,
purchased raffle tickets and made donations.

PRCUA Chaplain Is An Inspiration!: Recently, The Michigan
Catholic, the official publication of the Archdiocese of Detroit,
featured Reverend Walter Ptak, National Chaplain of the PRCUA, in its
cover story “Active lives, healthy priests - Priests find special
difficulties in maintaining healthy lifestyles” by Kristin Lukowski,
which was published on August 1,2008.

PRCUA Awards $61,000 for Higher Education: One of the
important fraternal benefits that the Polish Roman Catholic Union of
America offers to its members is scholarship grants for higher
education. This year, the PRCUA has awarded $61,000 to 142 students
through its Scholarship Program and Educational Fund.

Highlights from the 2008 PRCUA National Golf Tournament:
The 56TH annual PRCUA National Golf Tournament was held in Toledo, Ohio
the Weekend of July 19th. 194 golfers teed it up at the Detwiler Park
golf course with 8:00 am and 1:00 pm start times.

7th, the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America held its first
“Hats Off to Our Scholars” Fundraiser to benefit the PRCUA Education
Fund, which awards annual scholarship to college, graduate school and
professional school students. Most of those who attended the PRCUA
Education Fund luncheon were in the spirit of the theme of the event and
wore a variety of hats.

Polish Museum of America Honors Veterans: Chicago, IL -
The 28th Annual Summer Ball of the Polish Museum of America was held on
June 20, 2008 at the Wyndham O’Hare Hotel Ballroom in Rosemont, IL. This
year,
the Polish Museum honored Polish and Polish American Veterans through
veteran groups, with its prestigious Polish Spirit Award.

proudly returned to its roots on June 22, 2008, when the Annual Sacred
Heart Mass for living and deceased members was celebrated at St.

Polish American Day was held at Six Flags Great America:
On Saturday, June 7th, 2008 the Second Annual Polish American Day was
held at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois. It is the largest
theme park in Illinois, with lots to see and do and definitely a lot of
fun. The park features just about every kind of ride for all ages
including the wet rides at the water park.

Madonna U. Receives Donation from PRCUA: On June 21,
2008, Sr. Rose Marie Kujawa, CSSF, President of Madonna University in
Livonia, MI, addressed the PRCUA Board of Directors at the Home Office
in Chicago, IL. She thanked them for initiating a Matching Money
Campaign to benefit the University’s Leading the Way Campaign. The goal
of the campaign is the construction of a new academic building.

2008 Polish Constitution Day in Chicago: Poland’s May 3rd
Constitution Day has been celebrated in Chicago for decades. Events take
place over several days. The 2008 celebration began on Friday, May 2nd

held on April 25-27, 2008, at Laurel Lanes in Maple Shade, New Jersey.
One-hundred avid and serious bowlers came to bowl! This was evidenced by
several honors scores and topped off by Jim Faunce’s OUTSTANDING 300
GAME!
